# Is there one test for heavy metals, mold toxins and chemicals?

Yes. Some at-home urine panels list heavy metals, mycotoxins (mold toxins) and environmental chemicals in one order. In our dated comparison, three do: Intrinsic Prism, RealTime All-Tox and US BioTek MOE-Tox; Intrinsic Prism also adds a blood PFAS panel and detox genetics, and US BioTek adds organic acids. Before choosing, compare the named markers in each category and the samples needed.[[1]](#source-1)[[2]](#source-2)[[3]](#source-3)

## What “one test” usually means

One order does not always mean one sample. RealTime describes its All-Tox Profile as four urine-based tests from a single urine sample.[[2]](#source-2) Intrinsic Prism uses urine for most toxin markers, blood or serum for PFAS and DNA for genetics, collected at home.[[1]](#source-1) US BioTek’s MOE-Tox uses urine tubes.[[3]](#source-3)

## Tests that list all three in one order

From our dated comparison of 11 at-home tests, these three list heavy metals, mycotoxins and environmental chemicals in a single order. Listed alphabetically.

Listed alphabetically by provider. This is not a ranking, and it was prepared by Intrinsic Prism, so our own package is included. Counts are the provider’s own published counts or the markers named on its page; categories are grouped by us so the rows can be compared.

Markers by category, as published by each provider (checked October 22, 2026).

## Why the categories behave differently

- **Heavy metals.** Urine and blood answer different questions. CDC uses blood to assess lead, with a blood lead reference value of 3.5 micrograms per deciliter.[[4]](#source-4)
- **Mycotoxins.** Most human exposure to mycotoxins comes through food; WHO lists aflatoxins, ochratoxin A and others as the main health concerns.[[5]](#source-5) A urine result describes your exposure, not the mold in a building; EPA explains that building mold is assessed by inspection and, in most cases with visible growth, sampling is unnecessary.[[6]](#source-6)
- **Environmental chemicals.** Most are short-lived and measured as urine metabolites, so a single sample reflects recent exposure.[[7]](#source-7)[[8]](#source-8)

## What a combined test cannot do

A broad panel shows which chemicals were measurable at the time of collection. CDC notes that measuring a chemical in blood or urine does not by itself mean it causes disease, and research separate from exposure data is needed to judge safe levels.[[9]](#source-9) Single-category tests may be enough if you only have one question, for example metals or plastic chemicals.

The Intrinsic Prism complete package is $1,999 per participant.

## Frequently asked questions

Can one at-home test check heavy metals, mold toxins and chemicals?
: Yes. In our dated comparison, Intrinsic Prism, RealTime All-Tox and US BioTek MOE-Tox list all three categories in one order.[[1]](#source-1)[[2]](#source-2)[[3]](#source-3)

Is a mycotoxin urine test the same as testing my home for mold?
: No. A urine test describes exposure in your body. Building mold is assessed by inspecting the building; EPA explains when sampling helps.[[6]](#source-6)

Do combined tests use one sample?
: Not always. Some use a single urine sample, while others add blood for PFAS or DNA for genetics.[[2]](#source-2)[[1]](#source-1)

Does a detected chemical mean I am sick?
: No. CDC notes that a measured level shows exposure and does not by itself mean the chemical causes disease.[[9]](#source-9)
