PFAS (forever chemicals), including PFOA, PFOS, PFHxS, PFNA and GenX, measured in a blood or serum sample, as part of one all-in-one 133+ marker test.[[1]](#source-1)[[2]](#source-2)

**$1,999** One all-in-one test: 133+ markers from one at-home kit. Per participant, one-time. HSA/FSA eligible (claim with the itemized invoice) · Free US shipping · Ships worldwide

## The short answer

A PFAS blood test measures how much of certain PFAS are in your blood. Our kit uses a blood or serum sample for the PFAS markers, alongside urine and DNA samples for the other categories in the same 133+ marker test.[[2]](#source-2)[[3]](#source-3) ATSDR says results show how much of certain PFAS are in your blood but will not give clear information about health effects, pinpoint a health problem or guide treatment.[[4]](#source-4)

**Limits.** Intrinsic Prism uses laboratory-developed tests, which are not FDA-cleared. Results are educational, not a diagnosis, and do not replace care from your own clinician. The package is not available in New York.

## What does the PFAS blood test measure?

The PFAS chemicals category on What we Test lists 21 entries (blood or serum), four of them isotope-labelled analytical standards that the laboratory adds to check the measurement.[[1]](#source-1) The PFAS measured include:

- Legacy long-chain PFAS: PFOA, PFOS, PFHxS, PFNA, PFDA (PFDeA), PFUnA, PFDoA, PFTrDA, PFTeDA and PFHpS.[[1]](#source-1)
- Shorter-chain PFAS: PFBA, PFPeA, PFHxA and PFHpA.[[1]](#source-1)
- Replacement PFAS: GenX (HFPO-DA), NaDONA (ADONA) and 9Cl-PFESA (a major F-53B component).[[1]](#source-1)

Long-chain PFAS bind proteins and can persist, so a serum value estimates longer-term internal burden. Shorter-chain PFAS clear faster, so a single sample may miss past peaks.[[1]](#source-1) See the full list on [What we Test](https://intrinsicprism.com/what-we-test).

## PFAS blood test vs urine vs water test

What each kind of PFAS test measures. Prepared by Intrinsic Prism, October 28, 2026.

| Test | What it measures | What it can and can't tell you |
| --- | --- | --- |
| PFAS blood (serum) test | PFAS in your blood or serum[[4]](#source-4) | How much of certain PFAS are in your body; not health effects, a diagnosis or treatment guidance[[4]](#source-4) |
| Urine test | Our kit does not use urine for PFAS; urine is used for many other toxin markers[[3]](#source-3) | Not the sample our kit uses for PFAS[[3]](#source-3) |
| Water test | PFAS in drinking water, not in your body | Whether your water may be a source; ATSDR suggests asking your local health department about PFAS in your water[[5]](#source-5) |

## How to prepare

- Follow the kit instructions for each sample: urine, blood or serum, and DNA.[[2]](#source-2)
- How the blood or serum sample is collected depends on the collection option and location.[[3]](#source-3)
- For the urine part of the same kit, see [how to prepare for a urine toxin test](https://intrinsicprism.com/learn/how-to-prepare-for-urine-toxin-test).

## Price, HSA/FSA and shipping

- **$1,999 per participant, one-time.** One all-in-one test: every test page on this site sells this same kit.[[2]](#source-2)
- **HSA/FSA eligible.** You receive an itemized invoice to claim reimbursement from your plan; your plan administrator decides. See [how to claim](https://intrinsicprism.com/learn/hsa-fsa-eligible-toxin-test).
- **Free US shipping.** Ships worldwide to most countries; availability is confirmed at checkout.[[6]](#source-6)

## Frequently asked questions

Can I do a PFAS blood test at home?
: Yes. You order online, the kit is sent to you and you follow the kit instructions for each sample: urine, blood or serum, and DNA.[[2]](#source-2) How the blood or serum sample is collected depends on the collection option and location.[[3]](#source-3)

Which PFAS does the test measure?
: 21 entries in the PFAS chemicals category, four of them isotope-labelled analytical standards. They include PFOA, PFOS, PFHxS, PFNA, PFDA, GenX (HFPO-DA), NaDONA and 9Cl-PFESA.[[1]](#source-1)

Why blood instead of urine for PFAS?
: Blood or serum is used for the included PFAS chemistry.[[3]](#source-3) Long-chain PFAS bind proteins and can persist, so serum estimates longer-term internal burden.[[1]](#source-1)

Will a PFAS blood test tell me whether PFAS caused a health problem?
: No. ATSDR says results will not give clear information about health effects, pinpoint a health problem, guide treatment, or predict or rule out future problems.[[4]](#source-4) Discuss results with your clinician.

Can I buy only the PFAS test?
: No. The PFAS markers are part of one test: $1,999 per participant, one-time, covering 133+ markers across mycotoxins, heavy metals, environmental chemicals, PFAS and toxin genetics.[[2]](#source-2)

Is the PFAS blood test HSA/FSA eligible?
: The test is HSA/FSA eligible. You receive an itemized invoice to claim reimbursement from your plan, and your plan administrator decides.[[2]](#source-2)

Does this test check my water for PFAS?
: No. It measures PFAS in your blood or serum. For water, use our [PFAS tap water lookup](https://intrinsicprism.com/tools/pfas-water-lookup); ATSDR suggests asking your local health department about PFAS in your water.[[5]](#source-5)
